Basler is an international leader and experienced expert in computer vision. We offer a broad portfolio of vision hardware and software as well as customer-specific products and solutions.

We employ about 850 people at our headquarters in Ahrensburg, Germany, as well as other sales and development locations throughout Europe, Asia, and North America. Key factors in our more than 30-year success story include the courage to take risks, the willingness to see constant change as normal and the passion to pursue customer-oriented innovations.

Your responsibilities

Basler Vision Simulation allows us to virtually test our cameras, lenses, and lighting systems—along with other components such as robots or conveyor belts—as early as the planning phase of industrial systems. This requires a close match between the simulation and reality. That’s why you’ll help us validate our simulation models using real measurement data:

  • You’ll conduct measurements in the lab and record measurement data from our cameras, lenses, and lighting systems.

  • You’ll analyze and visualize the collected data and derive insights for the simulation.

  • You’ll adjust simulation parameters, test the models, and help ensure that the simulation matches reality.

  • For new products, you’ll collect measurement data and assist in developing appropriate digital simulation models.

  • You’ll work closely with the team, contribute your own ideas, and take on clearly defined sets of tasks independently.

Your qualifications

  • You are studying physics, image processing, communications engineering, mechatronics, systems engineering, engineering, or a related field.
  • You have experience working with Python.
  • You enjoy hands-on work—such as with optics, measurement setups, and laboratory technology—and analyzing data.
  • Experience with simulation environments, image processing software, or similar tools is a plus.
  • Your eyes light up when you face a technical challenge.
  • You enjoy working in a team and can also carry out assigned tasks independently.
  • Fluency in German or English rounds out your profile.

What we offer

  • We have a clear vision of where we are going, but the individual teams decide how to go about it.
  • We welcome your fresh perspective from the outside and foster an open culture where all employees are encouraged to contribute ideas.
  • Things that make your job easier: Your own workplace, very modern technology equipment as well as infrastructure, "one to one" support.
  • Fair payment, flexible planning of working hours and open communication: per you from the trainee up to the board of directors.

Your application

Join the team and apply quickly and easily online - without a cover letter. Please answer just one question, upload your application documents (CV and transcript of records) and state your preferred starting date and salary expectations.
