Your responsibilities

  • Strategic responsibility for setting up and managing the audit function
    Development and implementation of the audit strategy; ensuring the independence and objectivity of Internal Audit in accordance with IIA standards and national requirements; direct reporting line to the Audit Committee of the Supervisory Board and functional independence from operational management; preparation of annual audit reports and quarterly management reports.
  • Performance of audits regarding
    Business processes, compliance, internal control system (ICS), ad hoc audits in the event of suspected fraud, whistleblower information or deficiencies in the ICS.
  • Monitoring compliance & governance
    Monitoring of compliance guidelines; analysis of governance structures and reporting to the Executive Board and Supervisory Board.
  • Supporting the Executive Board & Supervisory Board
    Through risk assessment, ICS improvements, remediation of deficiencies, crisis cases (e.g. cyber attacks, fraud cases) and reporting on significant findings, open measures and risks with potentially significant impact.
  • Coordination with external auditors and other monitoring functions (auditing)
  • Supporting the integrity and trustworthiness of the company
    Protecting the company against reputational, liability and compliance risks; promoting a control and risk culture; strengthening the trust of investors, supervisory authorities and the public through effective control mechanisms.

Your qualifications 

  • Degree in economics, engineering or law or comparable qualification, e.g. commercial vocational training with relevant professional experience
  • Sound professional experience, ideally 8-10 years, in a comparable position
  • Very good knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements in connection with ICS as well as risk management, governance and compliance & law
  • Expertise in the areas of audit methodology & standards as well as accounting and controlling
  • Sound knowledge of IT auditing and MS Office
  • Ideally certifications such as CIA, CISA, CRMA, IDW auditing standards and SOX knowledge
  • Strong analytical thinking skills and a high level of process understanding
  • Strong communication skills, ability to cooperate across departments 
  • Persuasiveness, assertiveness and a strategic-conceptual mindset
  • Willingness to travel (up to 25% travel activity)
  • Business fluent in written and spoken English
