Basler is an international leader and experienced expert in computer vision. We offer a broad portfolio of vision hardware and software as well as customer-specific products and solutions.
We employ about 850 people at our headquarters in Ahrensburg, Germany, as well as other sales and development locations throughout Europe, Asia, and North America. Key factors in our more than 30-year success story include the courage to take risks, the willingness to see constant change as normal and the passion to pursue customer-oriented innovations.
Your responsibilities
In industrial research, you are given the opportunity to work on a forward-looking topic with high practical relevance. You will develop your own concepts, methods or algorithms, show that your ideas work and that you can convince colleagues with your results. We attach great importance to good supervision at a high level. You can interact intensively with other students and colleagues in the team.
In order to choose the right topic for you from our wide range, we ask you to tell us which of the following areas sounds most interesting to you:
-
Our signal processing topics are primarily concerned with signal processing for 3D imaging. Stereo cameras, time-of-flight cameras and radar technology are used here. The raw data is used to generate high-quality 3D images in real time that look good or can be easily processed by machines. Classic computing methods are used and often combined with AI algorithms. -
Computer vision is about extracting the relevant information from these 3D images at a speed suitable for industry, comparing it with database information if necessary and making decisions from it in real time. AI processes are primarily used here.
Your qualifications
- You study (technical) computer science, image processing, electrical engineering, physics, technical or applied mathematics, data science or a similar subject.
- If you already have experience with Python, image processing software and/or a deep learning framework, that's beneficial.
- Your eyes light up when you face a big technical challenge.
- You like to work independently on projects and at the same time you like to exchange ideas with your colleagues.
- Fluent German or English round off your profile.
What we offer
- We have a clear vision of where we are going, but the individual teams decide how to go about it.
- We welcome your fresh perspective from the outside and foster an open culture where all employees are encouraged to contribute ideas.
- Things that make your job easier: Your own workplace, very modern technology equipment as well as infrastructure, "one to one" support and mobile working.
- Fair payment, flexible planning of working hours and open communication: per you from the trainee up to the board of directors.
