Data Protection Information for Applicants and Candidates

Basler AG appreciates your visit to our career site and your interest in our company. Compliance with data protection regulations is a high priority for our company. We would like to inform you below about the collection of your personal data by us.

Responsible party:

Basler AG is responsible for data collection and processing. You can find the contact details in the imprint.

Collection and processing of personal data:
When you apply, we process data from you that we require as part of the application. This may include contact data, all data related to the application (CV, certificates, qualifications, answers to questions, etc.) and, if applicable, data on bank details (in order to reimburse travel expenses). The legal basis for this results from ยง 26 of the Federal Data Protection Act.

When you visit our web pages, our web servers store for a period of seven days by default the IP address assigned to you by your Internet service provider, the web page from which you visit us, the web pages you visit on our site, and the date and duration of the visit. The purpose of this is to be able to detect, limit and eliminate attacks on our websites. The legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f DSGVO.

Data deletion:

If no legal retention period exists, the data will be deleted as soon as storage is no longer necessary or the legitimate interest in storage has expired. If no recruitment takes place, this is regularly the case no later than six months after completion of the application process.

In individual cases, individual data may be stored for longer (e.g. travel expense reports). The duration of storage then depends on the statutory retention obligations, e.g. from the German Fiscal Code (6 years) or the German Commercial Code (10 years).
If you are not hired, but your application is still of interest to us, we will ask you whether we may keep your application on file for future job openings. If you agree, we will process your data on the basis of your consent pursuant to Art. 6 (1) a DSGVO, which you may revoke at any time.

Confidential treatment of your data:

We will of course treat your data confidentially and will not transmit it to third parties. We use service providers who are strictly bound by instructions and who support us, for example, in the operation of the application process and the destruction of documents, and with whom separate contracts for order processing have been concluded.
All data is transmitted encrypted via SSL/TLS; this applies to your application data as well as registration and authentication data.

Your rights as a data subject:

When processing your personal data, the GDPR grants you certain rights as a data subject:
Right of access (Art. 15 DSGVO).
You have the right to request confirmation as to whether personal data concerning you is being processed; if this is the case, you have a right to information about this personal data and to the information listed in detail in Art. 15 DSGVO.
Right to rectification (Art. 16 DSGVO).
You have the right to request without undue delay the rectification of any inaccurate personal data concerning you and, where applicable, the completion of any incomplete data.
Right to erasure (Art. 17 DSGVO).
You have the right to request that personal data concerning you be erased without delay, provided that one of the reasons listed in detail in Art. 17 DSGVO applies.
Right to restriction of processing (Art. 18 DSGVO).
You have the right to request the restriction of processing if one of the conditions listed in Art. 18 DSGVO applies, e.g. if you have objected to the processing, for the duration of the review by the controller.
Right to data portability (Art. 20 DSGVO).
In certain cases, which are listed in detail in Art. 20 DSGVO, you have the right to receive the personal data concerning you in a structured, common and machine-readable format or to request the transfer of this data to a third party.

Right of withdrawal (Art. 7 DSGVO)
If the processing of data is based on your consent, you are entitled to revoke your consent to the use of your personal data at any time in accordance with Art. 7 (3) DSGVO. Please note that the revocation is only effective for the future. Processing that took place before the revocation is not affected.
Right of objection (Art. 21 DSGVO).
If data is collected on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. f DSGVO (data processing to safeguard legitimate interests) or on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. e DSGVO (data processing to safeguard public interest or in the exercise of official authority), you have the right to object to the processing at any time for reasons arising from your particular situation. We will then no longer process the personal data unless there are demonstrably compelling legitimate grounds for the processing which override your interests, rights and freedoms, or the processing serves to assert, exercise or defend legal claims.
